Need for Leadership Development: The
rapid growth of evangelicalism in Latin America has
been well documented over the last decades, many claiming
that more people have been saved than since the time
of the Reformation. It goes without saying that unless
this tremendous numerical growth is accompanied by growth
in Christ-likeness, the next generation will have to
be re-evangelized because the preceding generation was
not mature enough to pass along its faith. One of the
keys to combating “mile wide but inch deep Christianity”
is the development of its leaders: men and women disciplined
in their faith, mature in their walk, certain of what
they believe and why, and capable of nurturing themselves
and others to grow in loving God and loving others more.
